As so many of us are either continuing to work from home or choosing to stay at home with kids, I’ve received so many emails and questions from friends and clients about what to wear to look stylish and to feel good without over dressing and still feeling comfortable. For me personally, I am no longer working outside of the home, so sweatshirts have become my new best friend. I’ve invested in higher quality sweatshirts that are well made and are made to last! I’ve enjoyed playing around with details and various looks to make the outfit comfortable enough to be at home and stylish enough to feel like myself. Its really the details that elevate an outfit and since we are home, those details are important and are now becoming investment pieces.
One of my favorite ways to elevate any outfit is with gold rings. Whether I am stacking them or wearing them side-by-side, their elegance and simplicity will instantly take any outfit to the next level. Gold rings like these are easy to wear, easy to stack and can literally be styled with any outfit. While I am working from home, pieces like this have made my outfits feel effortless and understated. (I also love that these Gold Rings are designed and made in NYC from sustainable gold and vermeil)
Investment sweatshirts…..not a phrase I thought I would say, yet I am obsessed with the sweatshirts that are available these days. I was never a “jogging suit” kind of gal, but take an elevated sweatshirt and wear it with leather skinnys or leather joggers or a skirt or skinny jeans…..and a few details and you have an effortless look. My current favorite is this sweatshirt from my favorite designer, Anine Bing. This sweatshirt pays homage to my favorite city and is a very well-made, structured sweatshirt that will truly last for years. I’ve also been living in the sweatshirt and joggers that are in the photos below. The color I have is gray taupe. Very structured and made to last! Sweatshirt here. Joggers here.
Details from home……sometimes I work on the floor and with my shleter-in-place hair, I needed a scrunchie….yes, a scrunchie! I love this one as its silk, which causes much less hair breakage and it stays in place. I have the larger one as shown in the photo and also the package of 3 smaller scrunchies. Until I get a professional haircut, its scrunchies for me.
Sometimes a gal just needs to put on a dress and sit in the backyard! This is an older dress from Magali Pascal with gold details for added simplicity. I love a coin necklace – classic with a vintage feel. The one I am wearing is no longer available, but I have this one on my “to buy” list.
Feeling good and feeling our best is so important these days. I hope this post offered a few ideas and a bit of style to add to your WFH look.
